CODi 80 Watt DC to AC Auto/Air Power Inverter |
|
 | What are the wattage limits? |
| The CODi inverter will run at 80W continuously. While there is a surge protection feature built into the inverter, you should be careful to check the input wattage of the device(s) you are plugging into the inverter so it does not exceed 80W continuously. |
 | I plugged my inverter using the in-car connection into my car cigarette lighter but it doesn’t seem to be charging any of my devices. What should I do? |
| Check to see if power is available to the adapter. If available, the LED light located on the inverter will illuminate green. If the LED illuminates red, the one of the safety features has been activated and you much check the wattage you are either pulling from, or, putting into the inverter. If the LED does not illuminate, check all connections. Note; the vehicle may need to be running in order to get power. If you continue to not see the indicator light working, you may need to check the vehicle’s cigarette lighter fuse and/or the in-car cigarette adapter fuse. Refer to your vehicle manual for further assistance on how to properly check a car fuse.
To remove the fuse from the in-car cigarette adapter, unscrew the metallic tip of the inverter and remove the fuse. Replace the fuse with one of the exact same specifications.
If you still are not getting power to your devices, please contact customer service at 1-800-263-4462 |
 | Is it typical for the inverter to get hot? |
| Yes, all inverter’s put off heat while in operation. The CODi inverter has a thermally efficient aluminum housing which outperforms typical plastic inverters by incorporating unique heat radiating fins in the design. It is also equipped with an Over Temperature Protection safety feature that will automatically shut off the unit of the circuit temperature exceeds 65ºC ± 5ºC. So your inverter should never be too hot to touch! If it does get too hot, please unplug the device immediately and contact customer support. |
 | What type of fuse does the inverter need? |
| The CODi inverter uses a standard in-line 10A/250V fuse inside the cigarette lighter adapter. These can be purchased at most local hardware or automotive stores. |
 | Can the inverter be used in an airplane? |
| The CODi inverter is has an Auto/Air adapter. It can be used in airlines that offer a plug, whether it’s a cigarette lighter plug, or a plug designed for the in-flight connector. To be certain, contact your airline to confirm that your seats have the necessary connection. |
 | Does the inverter carry any safety certifications? |
| Yes, the inverter is CE, FCC, and RTCA DO-160 certified |
 | Can I obtain a new manual for the inverter? |
| Yes, you can download the most current manual from the Downloads page of our Technical Support web site. |
 | Does the inverter feature any built-in safety features? |
| Yes, the inverter has 6 built in safety features!
Input safety features:
- Over Voltage Protection – Automatic shut off when input exceeds 29V DC
- Under Voltage Protection – Automatic shut off when input is less than 11V DC (Automatic recovery for shut down condition)
- Opposite Polarity Protection – The fuse, inside the cigarette plug, will pop when opposite polarity occurs.
Output safety features:
- Short circuit/surge protection – Automatic shut off when short circuit/surge protection occurs
- Over load protection – Automatic shut off when output power exceeds 100W. (Re-insert the cigarette plug to restart the inverter for shutdown condition)
- Over Temperature Protection – Automatic shut off when circuit temperature exceeds 65ºC ± 5ºC.
